Event Info Should Contain:

  • Date, Time and Place
  • Short Event Description
    (i.e. featured beer(s), available food)
  • Ticket/Admission Prices
    (if applicable)
  • Event URL/Website
    (i.e. Facebook event url or website url, if there is one created)
  • Any Other Vital Event Info
    (i.e. parking, entertainment)

**Please note we reserve the right to refuse publication of any event that does not meet HBG Beer Week goals.**

Troubleshooting Tips:

Select the task below that you are trying to accomplish and get the step by step instructions needed.

Create an Account

Step 1: Click the ‘Create Account’ button on the Event Submission Tool page.

Step 2: In the Registration Form, type in the username you’d like. Be sure to write it down somewhere for future logins to your account.

Click the ‘Register’ button. A Confirmation Message will appear above the form:

Step 3: Go to your email inbox to get the Confirmation Email from ‘WordPress’. We add this step of confirmations for security purposes.

Didn’t get the email?
Check your spam folder or promotions folder depending on what email service you use.

Step 4: Open the Confirmation Email and click the ‘Set Your Password’ Link.

Step 5: In the ‘Set Password’ Window, you can either keep the auto-generated password, for instance:

OR you can create your own password that is at least 12 characters long and includes upper and lowercase letters, numbers and symbols. Have fun with it! Here is an example of a Strong password.

Tip: Be sure to write your password down somewhere for future logins to your account.

Click the ‘Reset Password’ button to continue. You will see a Password Confirmation message which means your Account has been created.

Step 1: If you just created your account and password, click the ‘Log in’ button in the Confirmation Window.

OR if you are returning to the site and DIDN’T chose the ‘Remember Me’ checkbox, you’ll need to click the ‘Login’ button on the Event Submission Tool page.

IF you DID chose the ‘Remember Me’ checkbox the last time you logged in, you don’t need to log in. You’re all set to start adding events.

Step 2: Fill in the Log In Form with your username or email address then you password.

Then click the ‘Log In’ button.

Tip: To avoid logging in the next time you add or edit events, click the ‘Remember Me’ checkbox if you are using your personal mobile device or desktop computer.

Forgot Your Password? No worries. Just click the ‘Lost Password’ button to reset and create a new one.

Step 1: Once you’re logged into the Event Submission Tool, you’ll see a black Toolbar at the top of the website. Rollover the ‘Events’ button to see your options.

IF you’re returning to HarrisburgBeerWeek.com and you are already logged in – for those who chose to ‘Remember Me’ during your last login – it may look like this:

Drop Down Menu Options:

  • ‘View Calendar’ will show you to the full event calendar to see what events EVERYONE has submitted.
  • ‘Add Event’ takes you to the Event Submission Form to fill out.
  • ‘Edit Events’ will display all of the events YOU have entered for HBG Beer Week 2018.

Step 2: Click the ‘Add Event’ button from the drop down.

Step 3: Next you’ll see the Event Submission Form. Start by entering your Event Name. Keep it short but descriptive.

Step 4: Add the Event Description.

NOTE: Your Event Description will appear in its entirety on the website calendar. But the HBG Beer Week Editor might shorten the description in the printed Event Guide due to space constraints.

Step 5: Add the Event Day and Time

You can manually type the date or you can use the Calendar Month/Day Picker.

TIP: Make sure you designate “am” or “pm” depending on your event start and end time. We will double-check this for you if you forget.

Step 6: Set your Event Location.

Select your Event Location from the ‘Use New Venue’ Drop Down.

If your Event Location doesn’t show up in the list, fill out the form below the drop down to add it to the list.

Step 7: Enter your Event Website, if applicable. This can be a Facebook Event page, Eventbrite page, Event Webpage on your website, etc.

Step 8: Enter the Event Ticket Cost, if applicable. You do NOT need to enter the $ symbol. It will be added by default.

But What About The Stuff in the Right Column of the Form?
You do NOT need to enter anything in the right column of the Event Submission Form (ie. Tags, Event Category). The HBG Beer Week Editor will fill those in when applicable.

Step 9: Scroll to the top of the Form and Save your event. Click the ‘Save Draft’ button if you are not done entering your Event Info into the form. You can come back later and continue adding info.

Use the ‘Preview’ button if you want to see how the Event Info will look to people visiting HarrisburgBeerWeek.com/Events.

Complete your Event Submission by clicking the ‘Submit for Review’ button. The HBG Beer Week Editor will be notified via email that your event is ready for review.

Once your event is approved, you will get an email confirmation and the event will be viewable on the Event Calendar.

Step 2: Click the ‘Edit Events’ button from the drop down.

Step 3: You’ll be taken to a list of your events. Click the Name of the Event that you wish to edit.

Step 4: Edit your Event Info in the form. Then scroll back up to the top right of the page and click the “Submit for Review” button. The HBG Beer Week Editor will be notified via email that your event updates are ready for review.

Once your event is approved, the event updates will be viewable on the Event Calendar.
